I have been wanting to do a post like this for a long time but just have never sat down to write it. My whole goal for my boudoir sessions is that when you leave your session you feel like a million bucks! It doesn’t matter your shape, your size, or your age. Beauty really does come from within and that beauty is what shows in your session. You may be nervous about doing a boudoir session, I can tell you when I did mine I was TERRIFIED! But it was something that I had been dying to do. I, also, plan to do another to celebrate myself. My first session was for my husband for a wedding gift. I want the next one to be for me. It is my job as your photographer to coach you through your session. I have studied and researched and studied some more the best poses and lighting to accentuate a woman’s body. You have to trust me during your session. I’m not there to make you look like a fool or feel uncomfortable. I there to help you look and feel your best. Below are some of my favorite images from boudoir session. These are posted with permission. These woman are not they typical a size 0, 20 something model. They are real women! They are moms and wives (or fiance’s) just like most of you and me. They totally rocked their sessions!!

The whole point of this post is no one is perfect, not even myself, and ANYONE can rock a boudoir session. If you think you are not pretty enough or skinny enough or young enough to do one of these sessions, you’re wrong! I dare you to believe in yourself, take the plunge, and rock your own boudoir session!

Meet the awesomely talented Cathy!

Cathy is one of the very talented Make-up Artist on my list of local artists that are available for boudoir sessions. I had the pleasure of meeting and working with her this weekend. She does amazing work!! Here are the before, during, and afters of some of the models I was able to work with this weekend. Enjoy!

Also, if you haven’t seen the awesome mini session and marathon special I have running right now be sure to check out the flier below and this blog post. Please contact me ASAP to book your session.

It’s football season! I’m a huge football fan (GO NINERS!), so what better way to celebrate the 2010 season then with a marathon!! Marathon is scheduled for October 16, 2010 at a local hotel and is $200.00. There are only 6 slots available. Included in your 30 to 60 minute session is; one outfit (something football related, i.e. your hubby’s favorite jersey, his favorite football t-shirt, etc.) plus a strip down and 5 5×7 mounted  prints. This is a great way to get your man unglued from the tube and turn his attention on his number one fantasy player!

Not available October 16, 2010? No problem! I’m offering these as mini sessions too! Your 30 to 60 minute session will take place at your home or location of your choosing and will include one football related outfit plus strip down and 5 5×7 mounted prints. Mini session will be available for booking until November 30, 2010.

I have booked a make-up artist for this event! So, in addition to your session you will be able to get your make-up professional done for no extra cost!

So we’ve officially been stuck in this hotel room for almost two weeks. I have been dying to get out and shoot but haven’t really had the chance too. So, I decided to go back through some of my “model” sessions a see if anything really jumped out at me for my portfolio. Below is one of the images that I choose. It’s from the boudoir class that I taught at the Mpix meet-up this past April. Enjoy!

Oh! I almost forgot to mention. We signed for our house today!! So excited :D That means I should know my availability for sessions soon. As soon as I nail it down I will be posting it along with a chance for you, my awesome reader, to win a session!

My latest OpLove session was a boudoir one and Miss B totally rocked it! She is definitely a natural beauty. Miss B was so easy to shoot and I can not wait for her hubby to see his album. Thank you Miss B for such an awesome session!

I'm officially closed!

May 20, 2010

So, the time has come! I’m officially closed. I am excited about our new adventure in Heidelberg, Germany. I will not be taking on any more sessions for the moment. If I do have an available date for a session before we officially leave I will post it here on my blog and on my Facebook a few days before. I want to say THANK YOU! to all of my awesome clients and everyone who has supported me here in Kansas.

And because a post is always better with a picture here is a shot from my latest OpLove session. Enjoy!

This past April I had the opportunity to teach at the annual Mpix gathering. When I first volunteered to teach the boudoir class I was excited to be able to share my knowledge with fellow photographers. Then, I came to realize I actually had to plan a three hour class. If you know me, you know that this was a challenge lol. I’m a very last minute person who usually wings it. And like the past, I stuck to my old ways. I did not finish my lesson plan for this class until the night before at about 1:00 am. I am glad that I stuck to it and made it through my class. I really enjoyed teaching and can’t wait to do it again! I want to send a big THANK YOU! to Mpix for giving me this opportunity!

I TAUGHT MY FIRST BOUDOIR CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so nervous about teaching. Mpix.com put on a meet-up and I volunteer to teach the boudoir class. I want to give this opportunity a blog post of its own so I’m not going to write much on it now. I did want to come say though I am sorry that I have neglected my poor blog and will get back into the swing of things soon! And you will get to see some awesome images from my class! :D

I was so excited to work with Miss V. She answered a casting call I had posted. I wanted to try out a few ideas to show the “softer” side of boudoir photography. I wanted to do a session to show you do not have to “bare it all” to do a boudoir session. Miss V came prepared and was awesome to work with! I think we definitely captured what I was going for.
