Last week I had the pleasure of meeting the H family. Dad was home on R and R so they were able to participate in the Oplove program. Their too little ones were as cute as could be and they all totally rocked their session!!

And I just had to but this behind the scenes image on here. Welcome to every family session lol! I always tell mom and dad, “You stay looking at the camera and don’t worry about the kids.” Usually you get half a dozen of shots like these before they actually look. Love it! :D

Things have been BUSY! lately. My poor blog has been a little neglected too. I promise I will get things updated soon! Also, I just wanted to put out a quick reminder my last “for sure” date for sessions is May 23, 2010. If you are wanting to book a session you need to do so soon.

This past weekend my local photography group braved the only crappy day of the week, weather wise. I have a talent for picking the worst days to try to go shoot on apparently lol. This was our first workshop style get together and to be honest I was scared to death before hand. I was not feeling well, to go along with the crappy weather, and I don’t do so well in front of the camera. I think it went pretty well though and I am excited to do another one soon!! Here is just a quick sneak peek for you to meet the models we were blessed to work with.

I first met J when she answered a casting call I had posted this Spring. When she contacted me about doing an OpLove session before her husband deployed, I was thrilled to get to see her again. Since the last time we did a shoot together, J and T found out they were expecting!! Of course this was just like any other crappy day in Kansas and the weather was not cooperating, so we headed over to the new community center and did their entire shoot inside. These two were so easy to shoot. They were very loving and affectionate and needed very little direction.

This is only the brides side of the family, and there are people missing. Let’s just say they have a very large family!

The reception was so much fun! By far one of the best I have attended!

Shop Talk Get Together | Pittsburg, Ks Photographer

This past trip home I met up with our Pittsburg Shop Talk group. It was so COLD but we ventured out and had an awesome time!! We ventured out to Empire City, Ks. This was supposed to be a ghost town, but it was a functioning town, so we ventured off to Galena, Ks and found some awesome locations to shoot at.

I would like to thank Sam, Steph, Tammy, and Jessica for making it out to shoot and Jessica, Matt, and Hayley for joining us for dinner! Can’t wait to do it again!

We eventually ventured back to Empire City, Ks where we did find some old abandon houses.

Eventually we headed back to Pittsburg, Ks and decided the music building at PSU would be our next adventure.

Next, we headed over to 6th and Pine to meet up with the rest of the group for the “official” get together. Unlike last get together, we didn’t have models to shoot, but instead shot each other.

Shortly after we had begun we decided to head into the local pool hall to warm up for a bit. It was a challenge shoot in the low light be we rocked it and got some awesome images!

After we finished up the longest pool games in history we headed back out to finish up and head to dinner.

This was Tammy’s awesome impression of all of my funny faces I kept giving her through out the shoot.

So, I host local photography get togethers to get to know other photographers in my area. At the get togethers we chat, learn, teach, and have an evening/day out. Our latest get together was held on Fort Riley, Ks. Not a lot of the local photographers have shot here so I figured this would be a perfect opportunity to share a new location with them. We had three lovely models join us for the day too, Fontana, Liz, and Auddie and photographers in attendance were Bill McNeil, Nadja Perry, Troy Ward, and Andrew Harpe.
